Why this page exists

VRL operates across three areas: business advisory programs, a private service marketplace (VRL Connect), and equity investment (VRL Venture). Each area involves third parties, complex variables, and outcomes that depend on things outside VRL’s control.

This page sets out what VRL is and is not responsible for.

1. Business results are not guaranteed by content alone

Paul’s Notes, free courses, free tools, and all content published on vrl.co.ke are educational. They are based on real experience with real businesses across Kenya. They are written to be useful.

They are not a substitute for professional advice specific to your situation. Reading a note about M-Pesa cashflow management is not the same as having a VRL partner assess your actual cashflow position and build a specific fix for it.

Results from applying the free content will vary. They depend on your business, your market, your execution, and factors that content cannot account for. VRL does not guarantee any specific business outcome from consuming its free or low-cost content.

If you need guaranteed outcomes with professional oversight, that is what the Advisory programs (Launchpad, Turnaround, Scale) are for. Those programs come with documented guarantees under specific conditions. The free content does not.

2. Third-party providers on VRL Connect are independent

Every provider on VRL Connect is an independent professional or business. They are not VRL employees, agents, or contractors.

VRL vets providers before admission to the network. Vetting reduces risk. It does not transfer responsibility.

When you book a service through VRL Connect, you are entering a contract with the provider. Not with VRL. VRL is not a party to that contract.

VRL is not responsible for:

The quality, completion, or outcome of any service delivered by a Connect provider.
Any loss, injury, damage, or disappointment arising from a Connect provider’s work.
The accuracy of any advice given by a Connect provider, including advice from doctors, lawyers, accountants, nutritionists, or any other regulated professional.
Any financial dispute between a provider and a seeker.

If something goes wrong with a Connect match, VRL’s remedies are operational (re-matching, provider removal, documentation support). These are set out in the Refund Policy. VRL does not provide financial compensation for third-party service failures.

3. Professional advice from Connect providers is the provider’s responsibility

VRL Connect includes professionals in regulated categories: doctors (VRL Doc), lawyers and accountants (VRL Pros), mental health practitioners (VRL Mind), nutritionists (VRL Eatwell), and others.

Any professional advice, diagnosis, treatment plan, legal opinion, financial recommendation, or psychological assessment given by a Connect provider is the professional responsibility of that provider.

VRL verifies credentials at the point of admission. VRL does not supervise, review, or take responsibility for the professional judgments those providers make in the course of their work.

Seekers should apply their own judgment and seek a second opinion where significant decisions are involved.

4. VRL does not provide legal, financial, tax, or medical advice

Nothing on vrl.co.ke or in any VRL program constitutes legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or medical advice.

Information about KRA compliance in VRL Playbooks or content is general information, not a tax opinion specific to your situation. Information about pricing strategy is general business guidance, not financial advice. Information about business registration is general guidance, not legal advice.

For legal, financial, tax, or medical matters specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.

5. VRL Venture is not investment advice

VRL Venture is a function where VRL takes equity stakes in selected businesses. It is not an investment fund open to the public. VRL does not offer investment products, investment advice, or securities of any kind.

Involvement in VRL Venture is governed by individual Investment Agreements. It is not regulated investment activity.

vrl.co.ke may contain links to third-party websites or tools. VRL does not control these and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

7. Case studies and results are real but are not promises

Any case studies, revenue figures, or outcome descriptions published on vrl.co.ke reflect real experiences with specific businesses in specific contexts. They show what happened in those situations. They are not predictions of what will happen in yours.

Business results depend on many factors. What worked for one business in one context may not work for another. Past results on the VRL system are not a guarantee of what you will achieve.
